BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- China's digital economy has scaled up to more than 31 trillion yuan in 2018 which is expected to reach 150 trillion yuan by 2035, according to China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).
Such size would account for more than 55 percent share in the country's GDP and level with that of the developed countries, reported the Economic Information Daily on Friday.
There are expected to be plenty of opportunities for digital economy development in the upcoming years with innovation spending growth picking up speed, new generation information infrastructure such as 5G and industrial Internet accelerating construction and manufacturing enterprises improving digitalization level, the report cited experts as saying.
