BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- China plans more measures to lower logistics costs this year, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
The country's top economic planner will introduce revised regulations for toll road system, gradually cut the number of provincial freeway tolls, and reduce the fee for waterway transport, reported the Shanghai Securities News.
Recently, the NDRC and the Ministry of Transport have jointly released two major policies, with objectives to launch cost reduction trials and promote the high-quality development of the logistics industry, the Xinhua-run Economic Information Daily reported earlier.
To follow the steps of reform, many local governments plan to speed up multimodal transport development this year, as a measure to cut costs for logistics enterprises. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
