BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) --- Beijing will expand the development of artificial intelligence (AI) to the whole industry chain and speed up the process of 5G commercial use in 2019, Beijing Daily reported on Thursday.
According to the report, Beijing will actively work on major national scientific and technological tasks, and undertake major projects, key R&D programs as well as innovation base construction under the national scientific and technological innovation 2030.
Efforts will be also made for speeding up the layout of key tasks and projects in Beijing, covering intelligent manufacturing and robots, and deep space exploration.
Besides, Beijing will be committed to building a number of new R&D institutions and platforms this year in an attempt to achieve major technological breakthroughs. (Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
