BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) -- China-Europe railway route starting from southwest China's Chengdu to Lodz in Poland and related enterprises have been included in China-EU Smart and Secure Trade Lanes (SSTL) pilot project at the 32nd SSTL working group meeting ended last Thursday in Chengdu.
As participants of the SSTL pilot project, related enterprises in Chengdu will enjoy customs clearance convenience by countries with mutual recognition. For example, they may have the priority to quicker clearance procedures, simplified inspections, and leading role in customs reform pilot programs, according to Chengdu customs authority.
All these benefits are expected to further boost Chengdu's trade facilitation and help the city build an international business environment, said Chengdu customs.
Launched in 2006, the SSTL project is the first international cooperation project following World Customs Organization's Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade. The pilot project aims at building a secure and smart transport chain for global trade based on customs-to-customs data exchange, mutual recognition of customs controls and partnership between China-EU customs administrations, customs and enterprises.
China's Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing and other seven cities have joined SSTL before Chengdu. (Edited by Su Dan)
