                BEIJING, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The total freight volume transported in China saw a 7.1-percent increase year on year to 51.5 billion tonnes last year, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed.
NBS data also showed the country's freight throughput at major ports came in at 13.3 billion tonnes in 2018, up 2.7 percent from a year earlier.
Foreign trade freight throughput made up 4.2 billion tonnes, up 2 percent.
