BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Think Tank Forum was held in Hong Kong Tuesday.
The forum, sponsored by Hong Kong Minghui Think Tank, Gaungdong Academy of Social Sciences and Academy of Greater Bay Area Studies, attracted more than 300 experts and people from various circles to discuss how to support the Greater Bay Area’s development.
Zeng Zhiming, member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and the chairman of Hong Kong Minghui Think Tank, called for the establishment of a think tank alliance for Greater Bay Area.
Wang Jun, president of Gaungdong Academy of Social Sciences, suggested strengthening the effective connectivity among Hong Kong, Macao and nine cities of the Pearl River Delta in the areas of ecological co-governance, regional planning, infrastructure interconnection, service and business environment improvement.
The Greater Bay Area, with a population of 70 million and a gross domestic product of 1.5 trillion U.S. dollars, covers the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region and nine cities in Guangdong Province. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
