BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan province has seen its trade with Belt and Road countries increase 13.9 percent on year in January 2019, with total value reaching 2.06 billion U.S. dollars, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
The province's foreign trade grew most rapidly with countries including Qatar, India, Russia, the Philippines, Iran, Singapore, up 5591.8 percent, 1384.1 percent, 603 percent, 375.5 percent, 324.2 percent, and 294.1 percent, respectively.
Data show that ASEAN was the largest foreign trade market of Yunnan in January. The total import and export value between Yunnan and ASEAN countries amounted to 1.44 billion U.S. dollars, up 16 percent and accounting for 49.9 percent of the province's total trade. Following that, Yunnan's trade with the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and the European Union reached 66.77 million U.S. dollars and 150 million U.S. dollars, up 166.77 percent and 116.3 percent, respectively.
