BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region will encourage medical institutions to apply "Internet +" to expand the online medical services, according to a plan of the local authority.
Ningxia proposed a plan to build itself into an "Internet + medical health" demonstration zone in 2019-2022.
According to the plan, by 2022, the second-level and above hospitals in Ningxia will open online medical services to offer appointment-based diagnosis, intelligent consultation, online consultation, result inquiry, bedside settlement, drug delivery, etc.
The plan allows the development of Internet-based hospitals. On the basis of physical hospitals, Internet technology can be used to provide safe and appropriate medical services. Medical and health institutions and qualified third-party organizations are supported to build Internet information platforms. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
