BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- The foreign trade value of Heilongjiang Province in northeast China rose by 19.65 percent year on year to 16.573 billion yuan in January 2019, 11 percentage points higher than the national average growth rate, data from the Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang Province showed.
The total foreign trade included 13.748 billion yuan of imports, up 20.49 percent on year, and 2.825 billion yuan of exports, up 15.72 percent year on year.
During this period, Heilongjiang's imports and exports with countries along the Belt and Road routes amounted to 13.63 billion yuan, a jump of 31.02 percent over the same period of last year.
General trade embraced rapid growth. The province's imports and exports concerning general trade reached 13.921 billion yuan in January, up 31.19 percent year on year and accounting for 84 percent of its total foreign trade, 7.4 percentage points higher over the same period of last year.
The province's exports in January were led by private enterprises. Data showed that among the 1195 enterprises that contributed to the foreign trade of the province, 1052 were private firms whose export value totaled 1.797 billion yuan in January, up 17.84 percent year on year and accounting for 63.6 percent of Heilongjiang's total exports.
The province's exports of mechanical and electrical products, high-tech products as well as agricultural and sideline products all maintained growth. Its exports of mechanical and electrical products during this period amounted to 1.269 billion yuan, rising by 30.8 percent year on year and accounting for 45 percent of its total exports of commodities, 34 percentage points higher over the same period of last year.
