BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The government of Wendeng district in Weihai city, a major port city in east China's Shandong Province recently inked a framework agreement with Sinotrans Limited on the construction of multimodal transportation project in Weihai, yidaiyilu.gov.cn reported on Friday.
Under the agreement, the investment for the project stands at 1.5 billion yuan, and the first phase of the project is expected to put into operation by the end of October 2019.
After the completion of the project, the multimodal transportation hub would give full play to the advantages and efficiency of transportation modes including railway, highway, sea, and air transport in Weihai.
Meanwhile, it will facilitate the construction of international logistic channel connecting China, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan as well as Eurasian countries, to further promote the Belt and Road (B&R) construction.
