BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) plans to formulate a series of policies in business sector to support the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promote policy convergence in economic and trade areas among the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, said Gao Feng, spokesperson of MOC, on Thursday.
MOC will promote the efficient and convenient flow of goods, service, personnel, funds and other elements and enhance the market integration of the Greater Bay Area, build it into an important supporting area for the Belt and Road construction, and make it a new platform for international economic cooperation.
The Greater Bay Area, with a population of 70 million and a gross domestic product of 1.5 trillion U.S. dollars, covers the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region and nine cities in Guangdong Province. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
