Global energy giants seek opportunities in China: report -- British energy company BP Plc has launched its first branded station in Shandong Province, beginning to build 1,000 new sites across China over the next five years through its joint venture partnership with Shandong Dongming Petrochemical Group, a private refiner. It will also be the energy giant's first retail site in China to offer fast charging for electric vehicles, the China Daily reported on February 20. Half of the new sites will be in Shandong, Henan and Hebei provinces.

Greka Group confident about its prospects in China -- Global coalbed methane company Greka Group said it is optimistic about its business prospects in China. As a world leader in coalbed methane development through its London-listed subsidiary Green Dragon Gas, Greka now operates eight coalbed methane blocks across China, covering nearly 7,600 square kilometers."We were glad to see one of the blocks we operate in cooperation with China National Petroleum Corp become profitable in 2010, and another block we operate with China National Offshore Oil Corp became profitable five years later, after years of dedication," said Greka Group Chairman and CEO Randeep S. IBM pens agreement with ICBC -- The United States tech giant IBM announced it has signed a 63 million U.S. dollar agreement with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the world's largest commercial bank, to help the latter's Argentina branch accelerate its digital transformation over the next five years. Under the deal, IBM will help ICBC Argentina optimize its customer experience with artificial intelligence and cloud technologies. IBM, for instance, will allow the bank to improve response time by predicting 75 percent of specific system failures, understand online user behavior and preferences in its home banking platform and reduce up to 30 percent of client queries through online services powered by AI platform Watson.
