BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's light industry was generally stable in 2018, with operational revenue and profit increasing 6.2 percent and 5.5 percent, and accounting for 19.2 percent and 18.4 percent of the national total, respectively, according to latest statistics released by China National Light Industry Council (CNLIC).
However, the data also show that main economic indicators of light industry are still lower than the national average, reflecting the growing downward pressure on the industry.
The CNLIC plans to adopt higher industry standards in 2019 so as to further line up with international standards. Specifically, it will revise 200 national standards and set up 10 new metrological technology standards. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
