BEIJING, Jan.31 (Xinhua) -- Trade between southwest China’s Sichuan province and countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes reached 165.22 billion yuan in 2018, up 24.4 percent year on year, according to statistics provided by Chengdu customs.
This accounted for 27.8 percent of the province’s total foreign trade, the statistics showed.
Sichuan’s imports and exports with its four largest trade partners including the United States, the ASEAN, the EU and Japan totaled 404.94 billion yuan, taking up 68.1 percent share in the province’s total foreign trade.
Meanwhile, it is worth noting that trade with Saudi Arabia and Brazil soared 190.2 percent and 61.6 percent year on year, respectively, in 2018. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
