BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- South China's Guangdong Province will unveil guidance and a three-year action plan soon to foster the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, according to Ge Changwei, head of the province's economic planner, on Tuesday.
According to Ge, the move is a response to the national-level planning on the construction of the Greater Bay Area.
The construction is divided into three phases, namely, laying the foundation, basically achieving rule connection between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and finishing the construction of a world-class bay area by 2035, noted Ge.
He said that next, the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission will focus on formulating corresponding plans concerning the construction of a international center for science and technology innovation, infrastructure interconnection and environmental protection, etc..
Currently, the planning on intercity railway in the Greater Bay Area has been under way which will be rolled out in the first half of 2019, pointed out him.
Besides, the three places will join hands to build the Greater Bay Area into an important platform that supports the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, said Ge. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
