BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese authorities have recently released a plan to promote steady consumption growth in 2019, with 24 policies outlined, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner on Tuesday.

According to the plan, China will take multiple measures to promote automobile consumption and facilitate the old car scraping in an orderly manner, accelerate development of the used car market, and also support installment of elevators in old communities.

In addition, the country will accelerate development of the housing leasing market, and support development of specialized and institutionalized housing leasing enterprises.

Meanwhile, it will tap the potential of online shopping and tourism consumption in rural areas, and guide the e-commerce enterprises to build service outlets in townships and rural areas.

The plan said that the country will also expand and upgrade information consumption, quicken the pace to launch licenses of 5G for commercial use, and support locations with qualified conditions to build information consumption experience centers. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
