BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- China plans to speed up the construction of transportation projects in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Area and Xiongan New Area, said Wu Chungeng, spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport (MOT) on Thursday.
The projects include the main traffic arteries of the Xiongan New Area and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, such as the Beijing-Xiongan intercity railway and the Tianjin-Shijiazhuang Expressway, Beijing-Shenyang high-speed railway, Datong-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway and Beijing-Qinhuangdao Expressway.
In addition, MOT will also promote supporting projects for major international events including Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and 2019 International Horticultural Exhibition in Beijing.
According to Wu, the integration level of cross-regional and multimodal transport services in the above mentioned areas will be highly improved thanks to the building of the major projects. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
