BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- China's 5G base station and core network equipment have reached pre-commercial use level as they were able to support both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) networks as expected, according to results of the third-phase test of 5G technology carried out recently.
The test results were released recently by the China IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group established under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China.
China has been actively working on 5G research, development and test, according to Chen Lidong, deputy director of the information and communication department under MIIT.
To further propel 5G development, China should accelerate 5G network construction, enhance international cooperation and exchange, as well as develop an open and win-win 5G ecology, suggested Chen. (Edited by Su Dan)
