BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) last Saturday completed the second whole-market testing of natural rubber options, reported by Shanghai Securities News on Tuesday.
145 members of the SHFE and a total of 435 clients participated in the testing.
A total of 264,126 natural rubber options contracts were concluded, with transactions of 32,340 deals on the trial day. Unilateral statistics show that turnover of the option reached 26,983 lots, worth 395 million yuan.
According to a SHFE staff, the test familiarized participants with the trading rules and verified the relevant system, and laid a foundation for the release of natural rubber options contract.
In addition, SHFE has released specified terms for its upcoming natural rubber options contract and has named six companies that will act as market makers on the contract. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
