BEIJING, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- China remains Madagascar's largest trade partner and the largest source of imports in 2018, statistics recently released by Malagasy customs showed.
The bilateral trade volume in 2018 rose 4.91 percent year on year to be 980 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 14.16 percent of Madagascar's foreign trade in total.
Madagascar's exports to China were valued at 150 million U.S dollars, down 14.86 percent year on year, while its imports from China were valued at 830 million U.S. dollars, up 9.53 percent, statistics show.
According to the statistics, Madagascar's import and export trade totaled 6.92 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, up 6.97 percent year on year, including 3.92 billion U.S. dollars of imports and 3.0 billion U.S. dollars of exports. (Edited by Wu Shuang, wushuang2018@xinhua.org)
