BEIJING, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- A Europe-bound freight train carrying goods left Southwest China's Chongqing on Monday for Duisburg, Germany , after the goods were delivered to Chongqing from the Ningbo Zhoushan Port in east China.
It is the first Germany-bound transport service offered by Ningbo Zhoushan Port for its customer, with the help of the China-Europe freight trains, which can help the customer save costs and time.
After arrival at Duisburg, the goods will be transported by trucks to the BMW factory in Wackersdorf, southwestern Germany and other owners.
From Ningbo Zhoushan Port to Duisburg, the journey will take 20 days, 10 days less than marine transport.
It is reported that since the successful running of the freight train route linking Ningbo and Chongqing at the beginning of 2018, the service has become an important bridge for Ningbo Zhoushan Port to integrate itself into the “Maritime Silk Road” and help more goods in the port to go to Central Asia and European countries via the China-Europe freight trains.
