BEIJING, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The total output value of China's forestry industry amounted to 7.33 trillion yuan in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 2.88 percent, according to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration on Wednesday.
The import and export trade volume of forest products reached 160 billion US dollars in 2018.
In recent years, the scale of China's forestry industry has been continuously expanded, with the gradually optimized industrial structure.
The tertiary industry represented by forest ecotourism and forest health care grew fast with a growth rate of the output value at 19.28 percent in 2018.
In 2018, the country's forest tourism and forest health care saw 1.6 billion person-times, up more than 15 percent year on year, creating a comprehensive social output value of nearly 1.5 trillion yuan, said the authority. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
