Firms in Germany's northeastern state of Brandenburg would like to see greater support in the ongoing training of employees in the process of digitalisation of their technology. There was particular need for this in such areas as IT and data security, automation, process optimisation and online marketing, as well as cloud applications, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cottbus said, reporting the results of a survey.
The chamber said that 38.7 percent of 944 firms questioned had spoken in favour of such support. Two years ago, companies above all were worried about security concerns related to digitalisation.
Digital business models and economic processes have in the meantime become established or were being set up in three-quarters of the companies. For the remaining firms the issue of digitalisation plays no or only barely any role. For this segment there was still a great deal of potential. Additionally, broadband communications must be expanded more quickly than has so far been the case.
