BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) – The General Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government lately issued an action plan for 2018-2020 to speed up the development of the ultra-high-definition video (UHDV) industry.
The plan is aimed to build Guangzhou, capital city of south China's Guangdong Province into a UHDV application demonstration area as well as a national UHDV industry content production base.
According to the plan, the city will invest more than 150 billion yuan in UHDV industry during 2018-2020, with the total industrial scale and output value exceeding 300 billion yuan and 250 billion yuan by 2020, respectively.
Besides, it will build one or two national manufacturing innovation centers, two national enterprise technology centers and more than two value innovation parks for UHDV industry, and apply more than 3,000 patents for UHDV industry by 2020, in a bid to improve its related innovation ability and promote cluster development.
Other specific goals include expanding content supply effectively to drive optimization and upgrading of related industries and foster the development of information consumption, and cultivating 4K application demonstration communities to promote development of new business and applications such as industrial visualization, robot inspection and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
