BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- The number of online education users in China is expected to reach 296 million by 2020, with a market volume of 433 billion yuan, according to an online education industry report released by iiMedia Research, an economic data mining and analysis organization, in December, 2018.
Online education in China has been widely popularized in 2018, thanks mainly to the development and application of Internet and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
Compared with traditional offline education, online education is flexible, convenient and rich in resource. The online education may meet the diversified and personalized needs of users when combined with AI, VR, AR and other technologies.
Market leaders such as New Oriental Education and Technology Group (EDU, NYSE), TAL Education Group (TAL, NYSE) and Xueda Education Group (XUE, NYSE) have realized online education upgrade driven by new technologies.
Meanwhile, the development of Internet and AI has also generated the consumer demands for good user experience and involvement in the teaching course, apart from the qualified teachers..
