BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Gansu province unveiled an Intellectual Property (IP) court on January 4, a concrete effort to improve the business environment along the Belt and Road routes.
The new court is a subdivision of the Intermediate People's Court of Lanzhou, capital city of Gansu province.
It will handle civil and administrative appeals of Intellectual Property right (IPR) cases at provincial level, involving a broad range of lawsuits such as patents, new plant varieties, integrated circuit layout design, technical confidentiality, computer software, branding and monopoly.
Earlier, on October 30, 2018, China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) approved the establishment of the IP court.
At present, China has opened three courts and 18 subdivision courts for IPR cases, which greatly promotes the modernization of the country's judicial systems. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
