BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region saw its foreign trade with the countries along the Belt & Road routes exceed 60 billion yuan in the first 11 months of 2018, according to the Manzhouli Customs.
Yuan Jinlong, an official of Manzhouli Customs, attributed the outstanding performance in foreign trade to the economic growth of major countries along the routes and the increase in their demands for some Chinese superior products.
Manzhouli Customs suggested that relevant government departments should improve the construction of domestic transportation infrastructure, effectively reduce the logistics costs of China-Europe freight train services, and regard the Belt & Road countries as the key sources of imports to increase imports of high-quality products in a bid to meet the domestic consumption upgrades.
