BEIJING Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province will install 15,000 electric car charging piles by 2020, covering key areas such as urban areas and highways, according to States Grid Shandong Power Company.
By the end of November, State Grid Shandong Power Company has built 1,286 charging stations and 7,370 charging piles, covering 17 cities in the province. Thus, it is estimated that by 2022, the number of various charging infrastructures in the province will reach 100,000.
So far, the total number of new energy vehicles in Shandong has exceeded 140,000 with over 22,000 charging infrastructures, both ranking top in the country.
Meanwhile, Shandong will also support construction of charging piles for sharing in communities and industry parks.
