The first Chang'an China-Europe Nippon Express freight train departed from Xi'an Port in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park on Dec 12.
The train consists of 41 crates, mainly carrying high value-added goods such as liquid crystal display panels, copiers, cameras, air compressors, etc. It left via the Khorgos Port, passing through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, and finally arriving in Duisburg, Germany after 15 days.
The goods, valued at over 17 million U.S. dollars, mainly come from large Japanese companies investing in China. The Chang'an Nippon freight train has become the highest-valued single-list item since its opening.
Nippon Express is Japan's largest logistics company and in 2013, it established a Xi'an branch to provide bonded warehousing and bonded logistics services to Japanese companies in China.
After the Chang'an freight train opened European routes in August 2016, Nippon Express (Xi'an) Co began cooperating more closely with the ITL Park to organize the exports of Japanese enterprises.
"The Chang'an China-Europe Nippon Express freight train makes use of the 'Beidou Monitoring System', the most advanced container monitoring system in the country. It can track the location of containers and help them arrive safely at their destination," said Tatsuo Sugiyama, managing executive officer of Nippon Express.
Since its establishment in 2008, the ITL Park has continually opened up, helped by the Chang'an international freight train, Xi'an Port and a cross-border e-commerce pilot.
