BEIJIGN, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- China’s ice and snow tourism recorded 197 million arrivals in 2017-2018 snow season, with total revenue standing at 330 billion yuan.
The data was unveiled in a report on China’s ice and snow tourism development in 2018, which was released by the data center under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China on December 23, 2018.
China’s ice and snow industry is expected to witness 340 million tourist arrivals in 2021-2022 snow season, with revenue projected to reach 680 billion yuan, the report predicted.
According to incomplete statistics, total investment in China’s ice and snow tourism projects amounted to 540 billion yuan in 2017 and 2018, the report said.
The report was released at the opening ceremony of the 3rd snow and ice industry expo (Jilin) and the 22nd ice and snow tourism festival (Changchun) that are held from December 21 to 25 of 2018. (Edited by Su Dan, Niu Huizhe)
