BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- China’s e-sports game market realized actual sales of 83.44 billion yuan in 2018, up 14.2 percent year on year, according to 2018 China Game Industry Report released by China Game Publishing Committee (GPC) during the 2018 China Game Industry Annual Conference.
The report shows that this took up 38.9 percent share in the total sales of the country’s game market, 3 percentage points higher than that in last year.
The number of China’s e-sports game users reached 428 million, up 17.5 percent on year.
Besides holding positive outlook upon China’s e-sports game development in the future, experts attending the conference also pointed out that after Hainan announced to build the pilot free trade zone (port), the province with more opening policies well suits the e-sports game development.
Hainan’s visa exemption policy for 59 foreign countries could provide convenience for international e-sports gamers, according to Zheng Hao, e-sports eco director with NetEase Games, adding that Hainan's rich tourism resources could also encourage fans to go offline for game participation from previous on-line watching.
