BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) – The first pure electric bus, jointly manufactured by China's state-owned CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC) and the well-known Hungarian car-maker Ikarus, made its debut in Székesfehérvár, a city in central Hungary, on December 18.
It is reported that the bus was 12 meters in length and equipped with CRRC-made core drive system and Ikarus-made structural components.
Székesfehérvár has been committed to building a smart city and shifting toward a green, low-carbon and efficient city, and the bus produced through the cooperation of Chinese and Hungarian firms is the best Christmas gift for citizens here, said mayor of Székesfehérvár.
Duan Jielong, the Chinese ambassador in Hungary, noted that a new path was opened in cultivating new-energy public transport industry and promoting electric buses in cities, which also added new highlights for practical China-Hungary economic and trade cooperation. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
