BEIJING, Dec.24 (Xinhua) -- Hangzhou city of east China's Zhejiang province plans to newly construct 400 kilometers of rails by 2022 to give better support for the upcoming 2022 Asian Games to be held in the city, according to Hangzhou deputy mayor Miu Chengchao.
Hangzhou is expected to form a city rail transportation backbone network that consists 13 lines (ten normal lines, one fast lines and two city lines) totaling 516 kilometers before 2022, which could fully cover all its ten districts, Miu said during the International Intelligent Transportation Industry Expo of 2018.
It is noted that Hangzhou will also newly construct 552 kilometers of expressway and highways, as well as newly build some 350 kilometers of railways such as the second phase of Hangzhou-Wenzhou railway and Jinhua-Jiande railway by 2022. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
