BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- China-Vietnam meter-gage freight trains connecting China's Yunan province and Vietnam's Hai Phong port has made a total of 1,000 trips on December 18 since its operation one year ago, with goods delivery totaling 406,400 metric tons (tonnes), yidaiyilu.gov.cn reported on Wednesday.
The freight volume via China's Hekou Port to Vietnam has sharply increased to 3 million tonnes in 2018 from 9,800 tonnes in 2013, benefiting many import and export enterprises.
It is noted that the freight train service was launched on December 18, 2017 by China Railway Kunming Group Co., to deliver fertilizer, fishmeal, yellow phosphorus, and iron ore products between China and South and Southeast Asian countries. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Hu Pingchao)
