BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- The British Museum is expected to provide more products with its cultural intellectual property (IP) for Chinese consumers through Alibaba’s online marketplace Tmall in the next three years, reported the Xinhua-run cnfin.com.
Alfilo Brands, the museum’s only agent in China, would continue to sell the museum’s IP products on its Tmall store in the next three years, according to the partnership agreement inked by the museum and Tmall on December 12 in London.
It’s noted that over 20 new authorized derivatives will be available for sale in the museum’s Tmall store on December 17.
Under the partnership, Chinese consumers would continue to know more about the British Museum without going abroad, Richard Lambert, chairman of the board of directors of the British Museum said at the signing ceremony.
The museum has attracted 360, 000 fans since its online flagship store was opened in July of 2018 on Tmall with sales ranking first among peers in just two weeks and many items being sold out in just 16 days. (Edited by Su Dan, Niu Huizhe)
