BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- China will accelerate the digitalization process among manufacturing enterprises, by expanding the application of the industrial Internet platforms, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
"China has achieved phased results in the industrial Internet platform construction and promotion," said MIIT deputy director Chen Zhaoxiong at a conference held on Thursday.
As of September this year, 67.8 percent of Chinese enterprises possessed digital R&D tools, 48.5 percent achieved numerical control of key manufacturing processes, and one-third realized network collaboration, introduced the official.
A white paper was released at the conference, showing that the promotion of industrial Internet application has achieved a special success in eight areas including power, petrochemical, steel, transportation equipment, machinery, home appliances, clothing, and electronics.
Promoting the cloud computing of industrial equipment will be the focus in the next phase, said Xie Shaofeng, director of the Information and Software Services Division of the MIIT, aiming specially high-energy, new energy and intelligent equipment.
