BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- United States' home-sharing platform Airbnb expects its business in China will grow three times in the second half of 2018, according to Airbnb official.

The company saw rapid growth of its business scale in the Chinese market in 2018, accounting for 50 percent of its total, with cities such as Shenzhen, Xiamen, Changsha, Guiyang, Xi'an, Zhuhai, Guilin, Qinhuangdao, Lijiang and Harbin becoming top ten fast-growing markets in China, according to Airbnb.

It is noted that China's outbound tourism has expanded into 200 countries in 3,800 cities in the world in 2018, of which more than half of tourists have chosen Southeast Asian countries as the destination, according to Airbnb.

The company also estimates that countries including Japan, Thailand, the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Republic of Korea (ROK), the Philippines, Singapore, and Spain will become the top ten popular outbound destinations during China's Spring Festival which will fall in early February, 2019.

It is noted that Airbnb will continue to optimize its online customer services and expand business to more second and third tire cities in China in 2019, according to Peng Tao, CEO of Airbnb China. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, Niu Huizhe)
