BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Cement prices rose sharply in China's Yangtze River Delta region in recent days due to production restrictions for environmental protection, according to a report by the Shanghai Securities News on Wednesday.
The average price has reached 529 yuan per tonne, and even exceeded 600 yuan in some places in the Yangtze River Delta region, the report said.
Data shows that in November, average cement price in China reached 452 yuan per tonne, up 22 percent year on year, mainly contributed by price growths in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, Shandong Province, Henan Province and Yunnan Province, with an increase ranging from 20-30 yuan/tonne.
Moreover, it is reported that the current price of mainstream high-grade bulk cement in Hangzhou and Huzhou city, east China's Zhejiang Province stood at about 580-600 yuan/tonne.
Besides the Yangtze River Delta region, the Pearl River Delta, north and southwest China also saw cement prices rise, generally by 20-30 yuan/tonne, according to the report. (Edited by Li Wenxin, Yang Qi, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
