BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 China brand value evaluation conference was held on Tuesday during the Boao Forum for Entrepreneurs in Boao, south China's Hainan Province, to improve Chinese Consumers' brand awareness.
The event was sponsored by China Council for Brand Development (CCBD) which has conducted the brand value evaluation for public welfare for five consecutive years and formulated 25 national brand evaluation standards.
The event is helpful for consumers to know more about excellent Chinese brands, improving national confidence as well as brand awareness, said president of the CCBD Liu pingjun at the conference.
Liu Zhengrong, vice president and secretary general of Xinhua News Agency, pointed out that the event was a response to the national strategy of empowering the country by brands.
Certain achievements have been made in brand construction by state-owned enterprises currently with self-owned brands formed in multiple fields, said Mao Yixiang, director of the News Center of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC).
He also stressed that more world-renown brands should be created by giving full play to the principal role of enterprises, making innovation while improving product quality.
The event was an important part of the 2018 Boao Forum for Entrepreneurs jointly held by xinhuanet, China Economic Information Service (CEIS), New Media Center of Xinhua News Agency and Xinhua Daily Telegraph in Boao of South China's Hainan Province in December 4-5.
