BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The added value of raw material industries in China rose 6.7 percent year on year in October, recent data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) showed.
Specifically, the added value of metallurgy, building material, non-ferrous metal, and petrochemical sectors rose 8.5 percent, 7.7 percent, 8.0 percent, and 5.4 percent year on year, respectively.
The output of major raw material products remained stable in October with that of crude steel, the ten major non-ferrous materials, cement, plate glass, ethylene standing at 82.552 million metric tons (tonnes), 4.522 million tonnes, 220.432 million tonnes, 73.619 million weight boxes, and 1.61 million tonnes in the month, up 9.1 percent, 5.5 percent, 13.1 percent, 4.3 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively.
Raw materials industries realized profits of 190.04 billion yuan in October, up 18.6 percent on month, according to the data. (Edited by Su Dan, Niu Huizhe)
