BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two China-aided power generation stations aimed to promote the use of clean energy in Kazakhstan were officially handed over to relevant parties of Kazakhstan on November 30.
The two power generation stations, a 1-MW solar power generation station and a 5-MW wind power generation station, were undertaken by CITIC Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China's state-owned CITIC Group.
Construction on the projects started on December 2017. They were finished and put into service, in advance, in November 2018.
CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. has undertaken multiple large projects in Kazakhstan so as to promote the Belt and Road construction, noted Li Jianhui, general manager of the East Europe and CIS Division at CITIC Construction Co., Ltd., at the handover ceremony.
The wind and solar power generation stations built with the assistance of China are of great significance for enhancing China-Kazakhstan cooperation in renewable energy and to popularizing renewable energy locally, a head of a Kazakhstan energy company who attended the ceremony pointed out.
