BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Actual gold consumption in China was 849.7 metric tons (tonnes) in the first three quarters of 2018, a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent, according to official statistic released by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
During the period, consumption of gold bars went down 5.1 percent to 210.9 tonnes, while that for gold jewelry rose 6.9 percent to 538.9 tonnes. The gold consumption for industrial and other uses was 81.9 tonnes, up 24.7 percent year-on-year.
The country’s gold output in the first three quarters stood at 372.8 tonnes, down 0.6 percent compared with the same period of last year.
