SSE releases China coastal bulk metal ore and grain freight indexes

Abstract : Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) on Wednesday releases the China Coastal Bulk (Metal Ore) Freight Index (CBOFI) and China Coastal Bulk (Grain) Freight Index (CBGFI), among other new indexes, on the 2018 Shanghai shipping trading forum.

BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) on Wednesday releases the China Coastal Bulk (Metal Ore) Freight Index (CBOFI) and China Coastal Bulk (Grain) Freight Index (CBGFI), among other new indexes, on the 2018 Shanghai shipping trading forum.

The CBOFI and CBGFI are compiled base upon previous China Coastal Bulk Freight Index (CBFI), catering to the marketization trending of domestic metal ore and grain transportation, according to the SSE, reported Shanghai Securities News.

SSE’s CBFI, added the new released CBOFI and CBGFI, is now a relatively complete index system that covers coal, metal ore, grain and product oil. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
