BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) on Wednesday releases the China (Shanghai) Seaborne Import Index (CSI), among other new indexes, on the 2018 Shanghai shipping trading forum.
The CSI takes January of 2017 as the base period, and is composed of one composite index and seven sub-indexes for world's six continents (South America and North America as separate indexes) as well as the Belt and Road region, involving about 600 ports of 75 countries and regions worldwide, reported Shanghai Securities News.
The SSE also announced the launch of a brand new Shanghai shipping trade service platform to further explore on-line services for shipping trade such as domestic online U.S. dollar payment service under the support of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
