BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's first 55-inch Ultra High-Definition (4K) inkjet-printed OLED display was unveiled by Chinese IoT company BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. on Monday, marking a major breakthrough in the OLED industry.
With the application of the inkjet technology, the display’s material utilization rate can reach 90 percent, effectively reducing its costs, according to a person in charge at the BOE Technology.
Together with better image quality, the display has a good application prospect, especially in the large-size OLED field, according to the person.
In order to further promote the development of the OLED industry, BOE Technology also invested in the construction of an OLED printing technology platform in Hefei, Anhui Province, which will help OLED TVs to reach more consumers. (Edited by Li Wenxin, Yang Qi, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
