BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- China's Xinhua News Agency and the Associated Press (AP) of the United States on Sunday signed an MOU in Beijing, with consensus in diverse aspects over further enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation.
During his meeting with Gary Pruitt, president and CEO of the AP, Cai Mingzhao, president of Xinhua News Agency, said the cooperation between the two news agencies has kept expanding and deepening since the two signed news exchange agreement in 1972.
Facing profound changes in the landscape of media, the two news agencies have broad cooperation in areas including new media, application of artificial intelligence (AI) and economic information, said Cai, calling for increasing exchanges and communication to advance the implementation of cooperative projects for win-win results.
While hailing the long-term close partnership between the AP and Xinhua, Pruitt said the two news organizations are complementary in many areas.
He spoke highly of Xinhua's progress in the application of new technology such as its media brain and AI anchor, pledging to try his best to accelerate the process of cooperation between the two sides and saying that he looks forward to further expanding cooperation with Xinhua.
