HANGZHOU, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The second political parties dialogue between China and Arab countries was held in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday, drawing about 200 representatives including leaders of major political parties of 17 Arab countries.
Song Tao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (CPC), delivered a keynote speech at the event's opening ceremony.
Noting that the establishment of future-oriented strategic partnership of comprehensive cooperation and common development opened a new chapter for China-Arab relations, he called for more exchanges and cooperation between the CPC and Arab political parties.
The CPC stands ready to work toward building a new type of inter-party relations with Arab countries, said Song, adding that such efforts will make greater contributions to building a China-Arab community of shared future, promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, and building a better world together.
Alsayed Mahmoud Ahmed Hussein Al-Sharif, deputy speaker of Egypt's House of Representatives, and Mahmoud Al-Aloul, deputy chairman of the Palestinian Abbas Fatah Party, expressed willingness to strengthen friendly exchanges with the CPC and to actively participate in construction under the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to jointly usher in a new high of Arab-China relations and bilateral pragmatic cooperation.
The dialogue also adopted the 2018 Hangzhou Declaration of China-Arab Political Parties Dialogue.
