BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The first blue book of city innovation competitiveness in China had been officially published recently, showing China's Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen ranked the top three by the innovation competitiveness in 2018.
The rest of the top ten cities in the list included Tianjin, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Ningbo, and Wuhan.
According to the report, cities with higher scores of innovation competitiveness in the list mainly come from China's eastern regions. Among the top 50 cities, 34 are located in eastern regions of China, accounting for 68 percent of the total.
Data shows that the eastern cities have a good foundation for economic and social development for a long time, and have the obvious advantages of innovation investment, talent resources, institutional environment, and innovation benefits. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
