BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- China's leading copper producer Jiangxi Copper Corp. (600362. SH; 00358.HK) signed an agreement with Antofagasta Minerals, a Chile-based copper mining group, on 2019 copper concentrates treatment and refining charges (TC/RCs).
According to the agreement, the 2019 copper concentrates TC/RCs will be 80.80 U.S. dollars per metric ton (tonne) and 8.08 cents per pound, down 1.45 U.S. dollars/tonne from that for 2018, marking the downtrend for the fourth consecutive year.
The copper TC/RCs for 2015 were 107 U.S. dollars/tonne and 10.7 cents/pound.
TC/RCs are paid by miners to smelters to cover the cost of turning copper concentrate into refined metal. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
