The 5th World Green Development Investment and Trade Expo will kick off at the end of November 2018.
In this August, Jiangxi Province issued several measures to further expand its opening-up and promote high-quality development.
"Being a keyword of the expo, 'Greater Opening-up' highlights investment promotion, foreign trade, outbound investment and regional cooperation, and expanding provincial product sales with the support of the government. Through such efforts, it is expected that Jiangxi's open economy will secure high-quality and leap-forward growth," said Liu Cuilan, director-general of the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province.
The expo will gather foreign politicians, heads of international institutions, experts and scholars, as well as representatives from Fortune 500 companies. Moreover, over 20 percent of attendees are from abroad.
Focusing on hot topics concerning internationalization and globalization, this expo will schedule many events of global vision, such as "Dialogue between Development Zones and Global Fortune 500", "Conference of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and Jiangxi on Economic and Trade Cooperation" and "China (Jiangxi) International Intelligent Manufacturing Forum".
To highlight its international features, exhibition area for Ukraine, the guest of honor and pavilions for import products will be set up, where overseas exhibitors and purchasers can purchase goods and seek partners.
"For Jiangxi Province, the expo serves not only as a platform to tap opportunities to integrate into the international community and get closer to global green development investment and trade, but also a stage to display itself to the world," Liu said.
"Combining Jiangxi's ecological dominance and signature industries, the expo opens four exhibition areas to showcase Jiangxi and its ecological civilization pilot zone, green finance, and green industry, with a total exhibition area of 25,000 square meters," said Zhu Yuanfa, deputy director-general of the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, adding that this expo will facilitate forum discussions, investment cooperation, economic and trade negotiations around green development to seize the initiative.
In recent years, Jiangxi has attracted mounting investors by virtue of the image as a green province, which has activated its green economy to a higher stage.
The contribution of high-tech enterprises to the value added of industrial enterprises with main business revenue above 20 million annually has hit 30 percent, the proportion of the added value of service sector to the province's GDP has surpassed that of industry, and the total output value of forestry has exceeded 400 billion yuan. With 4,712 eco-products and 643.5-billion-yuan revenue in tourism, Jiangxi has remained in the list of "forerunners" in major economic indexes growth in China.
"That explains why the expo can draw the attention of so many institutions, enterprises and veteran industrial players at home and abroad as soon as the invitation letter was sent. The present data shows that more than 110 of the Fortune 500 companies throughout the world have confirmed their participation," Zhu said.
In addition, three parallel events will be held around key industries of Jiangxi to promote industrial exchanges and enterprise cooperation, and generate tangible results in the expo.
